No Greater Gift
No Greater Gift are we given
Through this life that we are liven
Than through the struggle, tears we pained
Comes joyous wonders un-restrained
The miracle of birth uniquely shared
With each new mother and child bared
A bond that grows when tenderly measured
Will fill a lifetime of memories treasured
From newborns nuzzling at our breast
Cradled in arms they lovingly rest
What dreams, goals, accomplishments yet to unfold
These little children’s life stories we help mold
From infants to toddlers we give our best
So many discoveries our patience test
And then every night when fast asleep
A prayer softly uttered, “their souls to keep”
Pre-school years filled with wondrous delight
What’s this? What’s that? To everything in sight
From sticky kisses and uh oh’s here and there
“I Love You Momma” our hearts are laid bare
Their first day of school, excitement and fears
Is it parent or child’s face filled with tears
Those grade school years gone too quick
Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic
With middle school the schedules range
From Science, Algebra, and Technological change
Then on to High school demands still grow
New cell phone, Prom Night, the keys can they borrow
With personalities now uniquely their own
Weaves the profound tapestry until they’re grown
So with love, nurturing, and colorful thread
We offer the knowledge, their “Wings to Spread”
That once small child I embraced at the start
Is now an adult who long stole my heart
The love and the pride unconditionally rests
Knowing that GOD gave us each the best
And now with children of your own
This Grandmother adores the garden she’s grown!!!!!!
For No Greater Gift could HE gift to another
Than to know I was Blessed to be your Mother!!!
