Drought Of Hope

I’m not sure where to begin
On the outside of myself looking in
From this society so disconnected
From heartless reality so infected
I’ve become the ghost in my worst nightmares
Such horrid thoughts that I am scared to share
You don’t want to take a walk through my head
Don’t you know that soon you’re as good as dead?

On the field of battle my soul fell
All that is left, a decomposing Hell

There is no future now for anyone
Soon it all shall be over and forever done
There is no future for you and I
All that’s left is to slowly die
The truth looked into my eyes, and it finally won
Soon it all shall be over and forever done
Of my former self I am now but a stained shell
All that is left inside, a decomposing Hell

This giant mess around us all is starting to go down
All headed towards the same fate; doom surrounds
Perhaps you’ll live long enough to bury your children
Then ask yourself, how this could happen?
This drought of hope is turning me to sand
For someone like me there is no true helping hand
There is no future now for anyone
Soon it all shall be over and forever done

On the field of battle my soul fell
All that is left, a decomposing Hell

Throw another body on the pile
I see so many dumb or in denial
Throw another body on the pile
Humanity done; no more smiles
Throw your child's body on the pile
So many dumb or in denial
Throw another rotting body on the pile
You’ll join them in a little while

We are hitting the wall
No more standing proud and tall
Time for humanity’s final curtain fall
Spread like a virus until we hit the inevitable wall
No more standing proud and tall
Time for humanity’s final curtain fall

There is no future now for anyone
Soon it all shall be over and forever done
There is no future for you and me
All that’s left soon is to die slowly
From this irreparable society so disconnected
From hateful reality so infected
I’ve become the ghost in my worst nightmares
I am beyond repair
Such horrid thoughts that I am scared to share
I am beyond repair
