Left eye blinded lives a man who’s got strong will. Nothing will compare to that day, riding down that hill. Jumping against a branch he lost his left eye, still he never wonders why. His nerves are healthy he could get a new one, jet he prefers to get none. His lived like this since he was twelve years old, now he’s 84 and going for more. He was never stopped by this, driving, shooting and working it eventually became something he could dismiss. For one reason he says he was never going to change, his creational way of thinking that’s kind of strange. His injured eye was later replaced by a glass ball that actually turned out to be kind of small. For him I have nothing but admiration, he’s done lots of things no healthy man would do, without hesitation. When you meet him if you ever have a chance you’ll see this glass eye of his on first glance. It’s not because of the glass that you’ll notice but because of its size that makes you wonder. He realized he could live normally and do whatever he wanted to, from working at a bar to lacing his shoe. He will always be free with or without his curse it seems as if nothing could make his life worse. We all know for sure he won’t live forever but for as long as he does he will have this glass for an eye, to remind him of his achievements to remind him of that ride. That ride that changed his life forever yet he wouldn’t have it any other way. He came to accept his condition and learned to live with ambition that constantly pushed him forward. He had a wife and family, nothing prevented him from living happily. It’s not a story he likes to tell to everyone, for I know it only because my mom told me so, I only share this with you because it’s something I like to tell myself not to give up, to know that he overcame what probably no man in this room can overcome, he did not bend nor broke in two. Whenever you ask him why he didn’t get help, he won’t change his mind, he’s keeping that glass for an eye. I will never forget his only reply “God made me this way, so I stopped wondering why”
