The Church Ain't That Holy

Baptized as a kid,

Handing my uncle's hand,

Seeing him cry like he did,

He died before I could ever understand...

That the church ain't,

ain't that holy anymore,

It's just four walls for wealthy people to

feed their own egos.

So there I said it,

Now what's becoming of this once safe space?

After all the founding pastor invested,

I have to ask why can't faith still take place?

That the church ain't,

ain't that holy anymore,

It's just four walls for wealthy people

to feed their own egos.

That the church ain't,

ain't that holy anymore,

It's just four walls for wealthy people

to feed their own egos.

If only we’d resist and truly bear witness,

Walk with the Lord in covenant richness,

Don the Holy ring He promised His own,

Just like the Word has always shown.

I'm for sure back when

Faith was secure back then

Everyone who came got doused,

And nothing could tear apart this House.

The church ain't,

ain't that holy anymore,

It's just four walls for wealthy people

to feed their own egos.
