The argument over the perfect haiku begins...

Folder:
Fucking haikus

perfect haiku

nature comes through verse
comforting warm like the sun;
till the cutting line.

bad hiaku

the badly written
seeks to claim many praises;
still, the best humbles.

stalk

the foot treads lightly...
the twig screams of injustice!
silence is broken.

meandering pain

pain ebbs toward me,
like a slow river bending;
I broke with the fall.

unkissable

but a kiss would taste,
sweet lips and loving touches;
the kiss was refused

nature of love

nature speaks my love,
his love speaks of his nature;
love spurns my nurture...

passion

fire burns in love

the kindle dances with heat

till embers fall cold

underfoot

the flower opens
the bloom welcomes the shadow
the flower is crushed.

tsunami

the power of the sea,
dousing hills with moist sparkles;
death drowns, tears glisten.

the nothingness

the sound of nothing,
is impossible to hear.
Silence can be heard.

swirl of nature

life shines through the leaf;
leaves fall to the ground softly;
under leaves death shades.

fated

fate whispers in winds
hopes fail in fait accompli
whispers fade to blank

undecided...

words through natures verse

keeps a hold in our hearts mind

perfect even when not.

I could not stay away from

I could not stay away from visiting this one again.  I love good Haiku and Tanka, and these are very obvious in their greatness, but also very subtle in that same greatness; a paradox like the kind enjoyed in Haiku and Tanka.  Each of these compress so much observation, and even implied backstory, into the small space that Haiku requires---and the mystery that resonates around them make them very attractive.  I am not expert in Haiku, or even in Tanka; just an ardent amateur, that's me; but I would recommend these Haiku to any poet wishing to study the form.

Lovers?

Silently, you came,

Screaming my name in the night,

But I was not there.

SSmoothie, these are great

I have always searched

with hot eyes tainted and seared

for well-written haikus.

(And I have found some now.  Some of these left me speechless, and lost in a zen world of thought.  I have to say, I love these!)

Cheers,
