A Fading Memory. April 7, 2017
Do you ever look back,
On all the things that went wrong and for a second feel like your mind is under attack?
Everyone has that one person they would do anything for,
Put you together it’s like two kids in a candy store.
Do you know the saying “Shit happens?” Well it’s true,
There are so many things in life people wish they could redo.
Sadly, we all know the heartache of saying goodbye,
But the world continues to move even if your heart is on standby.
Letting something you love go,
Can leave a dark cloud a drifting over your rainbow.
Wishing that rewinding time,
Was as easy as making this poem rhyme.
Unfortunately, it’s not, and your left there feeling worse than ever,
When all you wanted to do was take every wrong thing and make it better.
Watching someone you love walk away,
Hurts just as bad as a kid with no presents on Christmas day.
Some things in life aren’t meant to go as planned,
Just to simply help your mind open and expand.
Time works weird as well,
After a while your brain won’t feel like its locked in a cell.
One day the pain will get easier, it won’t disappear,
But it will make life not seem so unclear.
Always having that love deep inside,
Knowing at least you tried.
Reminiscing on the good,
While living the life the way you should.
Let the things that cannot be changed go,
So sit back, observe, and experience the universal perfections flow.
Never forgetting the memories, you shared,
Just know from day one I’ve always cared.
"Wishing
That rewinding time
Was as easy as making this poem rhyme"
I love that line. Impressive entrance to postpoems. Welcome. Hope to see more.
...and thanks for the inspiration... :)
If only rewinding time
Was as easy as a rhyme
Then I'd click my heels three times
Singing at the sky
There's no time like
That moment when I made that big mistake
Or that moment when I let you get away
And every other moment that I'd like to change
Oh, if only rewinding time
Was as easy as a rhyme
Then I could write another try
Changing what went wrong to right
Then I could have you in my arms
Wrapped up in everything we are
Instead of remembering
All the memories
Of what we used to be
Oh, if only rewinding time
Was as easy as a rhyme
Then I could gaze into your eyes
Instead of harping on
And longing for
The day before
You said goodbye
If only, oh
Rewinding
If only
Rewinding
If only rewinding time
Reliving moments of our life
Could be as easy, oh
Yeah, as easy
If only it could be
As easy as a rhyme
"Music is a universal language and needs not be translated. With it, soul speaks to soul" - Songsterr
I Agree
"...Time works weird as well..." nice line. weird, weirding, weirdo, weir - impressive word forms. :D - allets -
It's even harder watching
It's even harder watching someone you love die. I like this poem, made me wanna cry.
