Indeed... Hey, I saw this waiter the other day that looks very much like you. I might have told you about him before. Tried to get his picture but for some reason (user stupidity) I couldn't figure out how to take one from my phone quickly enough. Oh well. He really resembles you a lot.
All this topten talk got me to thinking and your poem inspired me to start my own spotlight on amazing poems that captured me, so yours is the first. I posted a link on my PP home page. I hope you don't mind?
My pleasure & my thank you for sharing this poem! I think what I love so much about this poem is that you have so many of the things I love about poetry woven into it. It's condensed. Everything extraneous is stripped away, leaving nothing but the distilled emotion of the story in poetic form. And there is a level of ambiguity to the events that allow me to insert my own thoughts and emotions into the poem. I enjoy revisiting this poem simply to ponder the scene, the events that preceded and followed the poem. This poem simply inspires me through the richness of its brevity.
This is still one of my favs! I have a copy taped to my desk to remind me that every thought has oh so many loose ends to chase & that is where the beauty hides. ;-)

Thank you
I recall Beavis liking this poem a lot. Looking back, I like it too. Thanks for leading me here.

was it the sun or another lover
So short, but it means so
So short, but it means so much. I guess it leaves a lot for the reader to decide what to think for themselves.

Callousness
To be pushed away added injury, to not wish to share warmth was the real crime. - :D slc
Right?
Not very nice.... We all need warmth! Unless it's a hundred degrees, then we might, could use some chillin... ;)
