Silently the dashboard dials glowed
The digits showed green numbers
Fuel indicator showed a full tank
The Engine purred into Life's journey
The blob of ectoplastic wonder
Dropped from above into the soft back-seat
A shrill cry- a tiny life - birth of a baby !!
Since dawn trying hard to see the Face
The Face of my Driver as I gain intelligence
Back of the Driver's head silhoutted against the Sun
Sometimes I perceive a long flowing white mane
Which oft vanishes to reveal a shaven head
Is it a "he" or a "she" I think as I grow up
Thus revelling I roll tired into the bed
It was raining that day I was going to school
Music of the cool raindrops on the canopy
The trees' leaves washed clean and shiny
Then the clouds cleared the Sun shone
I got a sweet shock my driver had gone !
I wanted to get off the car and search
But the doors were locked I was left in the lurch!!
As the years passed by the car seemed old
I never realized that it was worth its weight in gold
Hundreds of companions in the Car travelled with me
Some for minutes, some for hours, days, months, years
Three passengers have joined me who seem like my own
One my wife,my two children who have grown
Maybe a couple of decades the Driver will turn around
Demand His fare for the wonderful ride
I'll offer Him my soul and thank Him till I'm alive
