Peace

Alone With The Lungs Of Winter

Alone with the drums of thunder

Rain's little hands knocking upon the glass

In the silence

The sound reveals a face

As lightning stitches the sky

Alone with the dark

Pressed all around

Like wonderful friend

With stale air to sing

Spun new with golden sheen

Alone without feeling

No care no hate

Alone with the voices

Yours and theirs

The wearied air full of song

No breath unsung

Alone with the lungs of winter

Astral Aglow

The Art Of Sight

Light flutters from loosely hung blinds

Unworking to blind

With unearthly sun

Slither steaming upon skin

Bathing it in hot sunrisen skyline

Lighting a thousand fires

Across my naked flesh

My eyes shot with bright

And you

Lying there astral aglow

Bringing spring

To my wintered soul

My best friend

The pencil, the paper

A soft leaded capture

From mine to my friend's best

Peace be With You

May you sleep in peace tonight

And have happy dreams without fright

When you wake to the suns new rays

And the stars sleep as you start your day

Know that you're blessed and I hope you see

I'm thinking of you, so think of me

In troubled times you may not always see

But I am he one who calmed the raging sea

I'm always there with you hand in hand

To carry you through the sinking sand

So cast your fears to the Lord above

So that you may know that I am Love

I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote this poem.

Courage : A Diary Entry

[If titles this long didn’t look stupid, I would title this…

"I want to blame you for not loving me,

And that statement goes to every woman in my life who never believed in me."

Or

"I believed in you, when they told me don’t."]

Its been four whole days,

And you're still all that I think about,

Its overwhelming, the thought of you saying those things you typed out your mouth,

Im crying now,

I need a get away, calling haso, like baby get me out of town,

But I blew through thousands in my credit card account,

Fell back deep in an addiction many don’t know about,

And if they do, they squint their eyes in doubt,

They say, not you,

Not you,

Its not you…

Im salivating, how long are you gonna keep me waiting,

I told you I needed you, and you said not now, maybe later,

When we both know in your mind you're being creative,

Trying to force your feelings for me away,

But whenever you close your eyes you see my face,

Moaning for him, picturing me, but you are still confused of where you need to be...

Don’t you dare wish me well,

When your best wishes come from the same ditch where your daughter lays,

Don’t wish me well, my key is still under the mat for when you decide to stay,

Tug me softly, tell me this is the only way,

The only way, so don’t lose faith in me,

I cant let go, cant let go…

Paint my face white until the pink in my lips turn bright red and my smile upside down…

Tell them niggas, im alone, no one is around,

Tell them niggas, my spirit is in my knees, close to the ground,

Tell them niggas, before I get ate alive,

Tell them niggas, I want a chance at life…

Things are starting to overlap,

And im having dreams about deaths and bringing these folkz back to life,

The devil inside, haunting in life,

Grabbing my old bowl, packing tight,

My heart pumping blood, ready for flight,

My soul is inside out,

And ive lost control,

The woman I once loved sold her soul,

What about me turns all the women around me cold,

Is it a reflection of the ice in my bones,

The snow between my toes,

The shivers I get at home, when it aint even cold…

We Remember

On the count of three, we sprinted away

From danger. Our feet tripped over the banks

Of white with snowshoes – homemade by duct-taped

Plywood. A ravenous polar bear nipped

At our heels, and the flurries burned my cheeks.

I twisted my head to look to my side;

A young image of Dad jogging close behind,

Smiling, describing winter’s adventure.

Odd Man Out

Sometimes, I realize how different I am.

A shape that doesn't fit into any one particular place

Odd man out

When I look back on how versatile I've always been

Lots of different cliques, not a singular type of friend

Expending everything I have to be someone people want to talk to

But for what?

What am I searching for?

I can identify so many beautiful things that I have

In real life

A short few people who actually love me, for me

When I need them, they come through

In depth long conversation

Or just a simple cup of coffee because they're near

These are tried and true relationships

Sometimes I realize how different I am.

The tallest tree in the forest, towering above those who directly surround her

Or the tiniest grain of sand, undifferentiated, lost in an endless desert

So much the same, but uniquely separate in perspective

Nothing better, nothing worse

Just different...

If I had the choice to be somene else, in another place, another position

I wouldn't think twice before turning it down

I realize this isolation is an opportunity to turn myself around

I was once lost, and once again I will be found

I know I won't find myself in the struggle of another

So, I'll stop attempting to drown myself in the company of others

The silence, the absence, the willingness to be with me

The effort, The choice, The solace

It's become my sole necessity

Author's Notes/Comments:

I'm in a weird space within right now.

Trying to find the strength to go radio silent and let the true friendships surface.

Trying to find a true friendship with myself, and rebuild my connection to my spirit.

Distance and space are hard to do when you feel like you'll be missing out on others.

But, it's time.

Peace

Every religion worships peace,

Every religion is against hatred,

Every religion embraces all with love,

Every religion is sacred.

Be modest like Hazrat Muhammad [P.B.U.H],

Be peaceful as a dove,

Be kind like Gandhi, Buddha and Jesus,

Be selfless like Mandela and Teresa, spread love.

This is our world, our home,

Let us all make a serene dome!

Subjects

A goal with no finish,
The word starts to diminish,
And we have to refinish,
But there’s no time to replenish.

A goal with one meaning,
Harder to reach than the ceiling,
People keep intervening,
And hate keeps stealing.

A goal for the people,
To point like a steeple,
But there is no more diesel,
We’re equally evil.

A goal that has worth,
For the people on earth,
Since we were in birth,
It’s a tale of dearth.

A goal that is needed,
Words that are seeded,
The people conceded,
But the children have pleaded.

A goal that gets harder,
The more that we try the more it goes farther,
It’s hard for the smarter,
And for us it’s even harder.

A goal that must end,
A message we must send,
A time that we must spend,
A place to attend.
