I was asked to give my testimony at my baptism.  It just happened to fall on my 33rd birthday.

something that popped in my head a couple of months ago--guess it sounds more like a prayer than a poem.  Maybe it is...

My faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is stronger now than it ever has been before.  I know the valleys will come, but I also know that no matter what Jesus will be walking right beside me.  He will never be in front of me, or behind me.  Always right there at my side, where I need him, so that when I fall, he will catch me and carry me.

Suddenly, I realized the only thing keeping me wandering in circles,
& what's kept me from entering in, was my lack of surrender...& then, it was the easiest thing in the world to just begin, & as I did, He revealed to me many things still needing to be surrendered, that I was still unaware of~ that, in His love, He had allowed me to not see until I was ready to be set free ~
....& one by one, He's uncovering the things attaching me to this world, & lovingly revealing to me the simplicity involved with just laying them at the foot of the cross ~
Righteousness, peace, & JOY are our heritage ~
I settled, so long, for only glimpses ~ entering in implies the fullness of  ABIDING!!!

I wrote this right after coming back to my hometown, & suddenly feeling a deep peace I hadn't for many, many years...& I was so aware of all the years that had flown by, & how I had wasted my fleeting youth...& now, I'm ready to make up for lost time!
