WHEN, AROUND A BEND

When, around a bend

not the sound of cacophony

but a slight rustling is heard

there lurks in the bushes

the ophidian silhouette of death

silent like a slithering serpent

my arrival calmly anticipated

in the dimness of the dusk light.

Well written anticipation.

Well written anticipation. This could symbolize enemies and death. They both lurk everywhere... in the shadows

Our friend the poet Starward

Our friend the poet Starward has been on postpoems for 18 years. Eleven days ago he wrote me and told me he had just got out of a two day stay in the hospital. I have not heard from him since then. I believe that he may be having a serious heart procedure at this time. If you are a praying person, keep him in your prayers. That is what inspired this poem.  ---   Stephen
