WITH A SIGH OF INDIFFERENCE

Early on in the beginning of adolescence

Where primordial instincts come together

And bond with unfettered juvenile passions,

An irrepressible ardor unites the two of them.

When, in the midst of the unstable liaison,

She spies another male eye her with zeal,

The short lived expressions of love

Are suddenly thrown aside in a moment.

With a casual shrug of the shoulders

It all ends with a sigh of indifference

As the promise of enduring devotion

Is left in the emotional dust of yesterday.

Your poetry is quite admirable for its own sake, but when it touches so intimately on a reader's past experience, this adds a dimension of power to the poem that is almost "eerie."
