INTRUSIVE LIKE LITTLE ANTS

Intrusive like little ants they filter into my mind . . . .

Vague notions mostly reflections on the past,

Invasive ideas overrun my subconscious psyche

Like little bubbles they seep into my awareness

Fears emanating from these internal mental images

Trepidation spreading to the entirety of my being . . . .

As little ant hills evolve into huge peaks of angst.

This is superb!  I applaud

This is superb!  I applaud your use of the main metaphor and the way it swerves into the second metaphor ("bubbles") seamlessly.  This is real talent!
