@ 27.105 MHz: At The Shore Of Time's Fragments, Beside The Sea Of Eternity

(for Lady Shoeless)

[after T. S. Eliot's poem, The Waste Land, V, and

Paul Valery's poem, La Jeune Parque]

On that extensive shore of time's fragments, beside the vast sea pf eternity, the

weather's limited variances are well known to you, whose style is responsive to

                                                                                             them:  days a

little warm---a mesh teeshirt with those "skinny" jeans, for your barefoot walk in the

                                                                                                         damp sand;

evenings a little cool---add a hoodie and a pair of stripey knee-high nylons to

                                                                               follow the same path.

But upon your adolescence, never shoes---never that kind of stiff, recalcitrant

                                                                                          confinement to

impede, obstruct, obscure, obfuscate and impose

upon your adolescence and the poems that name and invoke you as their Muse.

Planets and their moons, stars and their planets, galaxies and their stars

seek to trace in their elliptics the beauty of your curves.

Wow. And Wow! What monumental beauty spills from each expansive line, the ebb and flow of them echoing the deep breaths of the ocean and "time's fragments". Then glimpses of an untethered, organic, spiritual wanderer (Shoes? What for?) blaze in your rolling style, but that wasn't enough . . .

You landed gracefully with perhaps the most exquisite lines of your entire collection.

Pure gold.

Thank you so very much for that.  I was not sure about the long lines, but, as so often when doubt assails me, you removed the obstacle from my path.  I am very grateful.

Enjoy effulgent days and exquisite nights.
