Far from the ghetto the Bolsheviks constructed,

you have exchanged the drab worker's tunic for a

shirt with frontal buttons; the volumnous britches for a

pair of sleek "skinnies" (better looking on your slender legs);

beige, silk, semi-sheer socks replaced your ragged woolens; your

dislike of shoes---as well as old prudes and their prejudices---

continues as much in Kristianing as in that Moscow ghetto you escaped.

Here, priests freely expound the Orthodox Faith you hold; and

 rabbis explicate the Judaic Faith your boy friend holds;

without the least fear of rebuke or reprisal.

Here, poets teach the skill and the art of the craft.

Here, you may love:  as your desire  inclines, and who

gently and delicately erects its inclination;

bodies' beauties convey their souls' conversation

with all manner of metaphysical delectation.
