VineThriving's Reply To A Rival: "Strategy Is Not Poetry"

Like Stevens, you use the third person, "he,"

as a sort of deflective strategy,

to shield the tenderer first person, "me."

But you cannot command his artistry:

your flabby lines' flaccid verbosity

are---when you come down to it---desperately

deployed in the slow burn of your frustration,

an overly extended evocation

that always chimes yet one more "woe is me."
I do not know what name it properly

can strive for, but it is not poetry.
