Those who complained the most vociferously,

from the perches they occupied on the periphery,

refused to accept, or exchange, an apology---

enlightenists that lacked the glow of human courtesy;

always lamenting their victimized rights,

tallying, or imagining, a long list of slights:
they did not command much of literary

skill, nor the memorably extraordinary.
