To The Poet Talhaiarn

No, I may not question your suicide

in judgment:  that act is flatly denied

to all but Christ---He judges with compassion,

not in our inhumane, self-righteous fashion.

Whatever drove you to it---pain, despair,

or something far more terrible to bear

(I do not have full knowledge of your story;

although, in sorrow, I have my suspicion)---

to question is not right in my condition,

for my sins (though confessed with true contrition

shown) I am not yet wholly purified

(needing an ample time in purgatory).

I pray Christ, in His boundless mercy, bring

you to His throne to worship Him as King.
