The Rome coliseum
isn't what it used to be
the Rome coliseum means something different to you
Than it does to me
What you see are shambles of a broken building
I see a structure that's survived the test of time
To me that alone says something
Billions of tears throughout it's glory days
Those overwhelming tears were shed
by everyone having just experienced
One man's victory and another's defeat
the foundation of this broken building is still strong to this very day
The hollow grounds have stories generations long
The same stories are buried in the colosseum's hollow grounds
You see something broken
Some thing that's a fraction
Fractions of a building I see something still standing
You see a building that's a shell of it's former self
I see something that's changed
This thing has changed much like myself
We've both changed throughout the tests of our time
To call this building in Rome resilient doesn't do the foundation of it justice
How can some thing be both broken
yet unbreakable I'd say because it's celebrated in story
Every strives to leave a legacy that'll be talked about for generations
The Rome coliseum
isn't what it used to be
the Rome coliseum means something different to you
Than it does to me
