+ 27.225 MHz 294: Response To Saint Ephrem, The Poet

My faith has slumbered as if under anesthetic.

I pray to awaken it, even to an ascetic

process, and that better spiritual aesthetic.

Saint Ephrem, I pray:  that before my life has expired

that your poems will have guiden and inspired

my own not to wander astray, wildly peripatetic,

but bear the stabilizing Faith of ancient History

that shines like the star of Christ that rose in the East,

giving light to even such as me---of all Christians, the least.
