Vintage Words

Men used to wear them but called
them something exotic. Women got them
after men, as usual. Cars in the late
fifties used to wear them, but it never
caught on like kits on Continentals,
or runners, which are making a
comeback on big trucks.
To skirt is to avoid or detour, pass not
touching. For women, it touches the floor
maximally, or hugs the hips casually. Bed

skirts hem in the dust.

Interesting pronunciation, even stages

have them. If you say the word over

and over out loud it begins to make no

sense at all. Skirt.
