TOMFOOLERY

I headed down my home street walking past houses I’ve seen hundreds; thousands of times.  There are old homes and new homes built up.  My feet caress the stones and broken asphalt.

And I while along sauntering and jostling with a squirrel; chucking stones and contemplating Nietzsche and a girl I used to know.  Children playing in the street laughing at my bouncing stride; mocking the steps I take.  I laugh at their tomfoolery remembering my own youth.  Quite amusing but something I can overcome.
